Mjällby decided the swinging match following a well-known penalty in the 97th minute.

After the final whistle, the players smoked together on Strandvallen.

– An autumn leaf falls, says Sirius’ trainer Christer Mattiasson in Max’s TV broadcast.

It was a swinging match between Mjällby and Sirius in the restart of the Allsvenskan. Mjällby’s Adam Ståhl decided on a penalty in the 97th minute. When the final whistle sounded, the players smoked together on the field.

Jakob Voelkering Persson and Colin Rösler seemed to end up in each other’s hoods. A scuffle ensued and several players and managers joined in before the situation calmed down.

“An autumn leaf falls”

After the match, Sirius coach Christer Mattiasson was disappointed that referee Tess Olofsson awarded a penalty.

– We deserve a point, but someone wanted something else. It must be 100 percent if she is to take it, says Mattiasson in Max’s TV broadcast.

He then got to see the penalty situation.

– Of course I don’t think it’s a punishment, an autumn leaf falls regarding as easily, he says with a resigned laugh.

– Now it’s a hard journey home.

The visitors’ frustration may have been extra great following they themselves screamed for a penalty in the middle of the second half. Instead, it resulted in a corner and a yellow card to Marcus Lindberg for protest.

The goal scorer was forced to retire

Former Mjällby player Leo Walta opened the scoring by giving Sirius the lead with a free kick goal. After that, the match began to swing considerably. Sirius Filip Olsson’s was the most swinging – despite only playing for one minute.

After Mjällby’s Herman Johansson single-handedly turned the game around with two goals, Olsson had to step in in the 83rd minute. A minute later he equalized to make it 2–2, but was injured at the same time.

Olsson slid in to equalize and at the same time collided with Mjällby’s Tom Pettersson and got his studs on the knee. 25-year-old Olsson was lying in the grass with a bleeding knee. After medical help and a taped knee, he tried to continue playing – but quickly had to give up and Sirius was forced to replace him following his first Allsvenskan goal.
