While it seems odd, it makes sense that both will only receive Android 12 as Xiaomi has only promised two major system updates for both. On the other hand, it’s good to know that they will receive most of the improvements in MIUI 14, which brings performance, customization and stability enhancements.
The update is currently only available to members of the Mi Pilot program, which tests updates with selected users before releasing them to everyone, which helps detect potential issues and resolve them without impacting many smartphones.
In this way, the public stable version of MIUI 14 for Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9S is expected to be released in the coming weeks, if no critical bugs are found.
