The Mitsubishi DST Concept shares some styling cues with the XForce crossover. Not surprisingly, this concept is touted as a 7-seater version of the XForce.
At the front, the Dynamic Shield grille has a large honeycomb pattern. The car also features a stylish hood vent to direct hot air away from the engine compartment.
On the side, the DST Concept also looks similar to the XForce. This car concept comes with a wide shoulder line. Plus the rear window is extended, showing that this car has an interior with three rows of seats. At the rear, a T shape is applied for the rear combination lights.
Inside, the DST Concept follows the Mitsubishi XForce’s flat dashboard. Inside there are large screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. This car also has a panoramic sunroof that extends to the third row.
Kurita emphasized that the DST Concept is not a seven-passenger X-Force, this is a new model that will be sold in the ASEAN market in two years.
“Actually, it’s not the X-Force (7 passengers). This is really a new product,” he said.
“Yes, we will announce it in two years for the ASEAN market,” he explained.
Globally, Mitsubishi has announced the DST Concept as a global product to be launched in the 2025 fiscal year. The ASEAN market will be the first to get the production version. Mitsubishi wants to offer the DST Concept as a global model.
Mitsubishi has not yet revealed the engine of this DST Concept. They only mention that the DST Concept is front-wheel drive and comes with five driving modes to suit any driving conditions.
“Next year, we actually plan to introduce at least one product, one year,” said Kurita.
“Next year we will have at least a DST (concept), then next year we will bring another new product. We can’t explain the details yet,” he explained about the new products that will be brought next year.

The Mitsubishi DST Concept: The 7-Seater That’s Not Quite the X-Force
Jakarta has been buzzing about a shiny new concept car: the Mitsubishi DST Concept. You know, the car that’s supposed to be a 7-seater SUV but isn’t really… or is it? Let’s dive in, shall we?
PT Mitsubishi Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia is bringing this bad boy to Indonesia next year, and it seems like the excitement is palpable. The President Director, Mr. Atsushi Kurita, recently quipped, “Yes, we are preparing it. You will be able to see it soon.” Now, if only the traffic in Jakarta could be prepared with the same speed!
First making its appearance in the Philippines, the DST Concept’s got everyone guessing. It’s been described as having styling cues that echo the XForce. So, we have a car that looks familiar. It’s like meeting a long-lost cousin at a family reunion: you know you should recognize them, but you can’t quite place where you met last!
Let’s talk about the details, shall we? Up front, it sports a Dynamic Shield grille featuring a honeycomb pattern that’s large enough to catch the eye of anyone—especially if they’re a bee. And what’s with that stylish hood vent? You’d think they were trying to impress the engine rather than the driver!
Now, depending on your style preferences, you might appreciate the wide shoulder lines and extended rear windows. Yes, they claim it’s designed for three rows of seats, and who doesn’t want to sense the danger of a claustrophobic family road trip in the back? Honestly, though, it sounds cozy.
Inside, Mitsubishi has clearly taken a page from the XForce playbook with its flat dashboard—because nothing says ‘we’re in the future’ like a dashboard that looks like a chalkboard! Expect large screens for both the instrument cluster and infotainment system, because if you can’t find the right playlist while you’re stuck in traffic, are you even living?
Kurita has made it abundantly clear that this is “not a seven-passenger X-Force.” No, no, it’s a new model. Like a rebranded version of your least favorite song—yes, it’s new, even if it sounds remarkably familiar. Set to launch in the ASEAN market by 2025, this global marvel will apparently be front-wheel drive and offer an impressive five driving modes. Five modes? So we’re basically getting a car that can adapt to our moods? Where do I sign up?!
In the spirit of keeping things suspenseful, Mitsubishi is playing coy about the engine specs. It’s like they’re teasing us with a snack at the end of a long shopping trip—just enough to keep you interested without revealing what it actually is. But worry not; we’ve been promised that they’ll introduce at least one new product every year. Because why settle for just one misunderstanding when you can have a fleet?
As Kurita wraps things up with his final remarks—“Next year we will have at least a DST (concept), then next year we will bring another new product”—I’m left wondering: will we ever truly know what the DST is? Is it an SUV? A really fancy stained-glass window? The possibilities are endless! Keep your eyes peeled, folks. This car saga has only just begun.
