Kyriakos Mitsotakis made a video on TikTok about the government’s beach bill.

In the video on TikTok, Kyriakos Mitsotakis states that the bill brings order to the beaches and ensures more free access for the public to them.

As he says, with the video he aims to dispel myths about the law. He states that this foresees the introduction of electronic auctions and controls with new technologies, but also stricter fines for those who violate the law.

He also says that it is a bill of the Ministry of Finance and does not concern urban planning issues. Regarding the provisions of the law it says that 85% should now be free of sunbeds, which should be at least 4 meters from the sea line.

He argues that the bill establishes “cheat beaches” in areas of natural beauty where sunbeds are not allowed.

At the same time, he mentioned that there will be a way for a citizen to complain electronically if he sees that a shopkeeper violates the limits set by the law.
