Our commitment to legality everywhere is not limited to a specific policy area. It permeates every aspect of public life. Especially when it comes to a sector of utmost importance, such as that of Health.
In this context, with the use of electronic prescribing, 100 doctors were identified who, within the first 8 months of 2024, were overprescribing to patients. In fact, one of them was fined 800,000 euros, as he prescribed, within just one month, thousands of medicines, even to his mother’s health insurance.
I want to be clear: such practices, which of course do not represent the entire medical world, are not tolerated. From no one and for no one. It is our duty to protect our fellow citizens. We have the will and now we have the mechanisms to do it. And that’s exactly what we do.
