‘My words were misunderstood, Zidane was not insulted’; French football president with condolences
French football president Noel Le Grat has apologized for insulting Zinedine Zidane. French superstar Kylian Mbappé, former stars and political leaders publicly came out once morest La Grat’s statement, Le Grat apologized.
Le Grat said Zinedine Zidane was not trying to insult him and his words were misconstrued. Le Grat said he apologized for the statements he allegedly made once morest Zidane and said it was not his intention to say anything once morest him.
I have nothing but respect for Zidane. The remarks made once morest him should not have been made. It confused people. “I believe he knows the respect I have for Zidane, as do the people of France,” Le Graet said.
Noel Le Grat also said that he did not intend to coach Zidane, and that he would not even pick up the phone if Zidane called him.
“If Zidane wants to call me anywhere for a coaching position, I won’t even pick up the phone, he’d better find another club or national team,” said Le Grat.
Grat’s words were insulting to Zidane and many fans criticized him on social media, declaring that he is a legend.
Mbappe tweeted that France means Zidane and should not insult a legend like him. The French Football Federation extended the term of current coach and Zidane’s teammate Didier Deschamps until 2026, ignoring Zidane, who has made his desire to become the coach of France public.
