If you grab a bag, a portion of each sale helps support Make-a-Wish West Virginia, a nonprofit organization that runs entirely on donations.
“Corporations and individuals have fundraisers for us or schools and churches,” regional Make-A-Wish manager Jo Beth Smith said. “We receive no government funding. It’s all just the community supporting the wishes in their communities.”
According to Smith, with Make -A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, an average of 80 to 90 wishes are granted each year in West Virginia, and the number is growing.
“I think West Virginia really has a unique attitude when it comes to our children,” Epling said. “We really care regarding our children, and we want them to succeed as best as possible.”
The companies hope the next time you head into the store, you’ll help them make wishes come true — one chip at a time.
