STARKVILLE – Week 3 of NFL action was another opportunity for Mississippi State defenders to showcase their dominance on the next level.
Defensive players that once donned the Maroon and White recorded sacks and stops behind the line of scrimmage and had their hand in a pair of turnovers this past weekend.
Defensive end Denico Autry led the way by recording another sack and forcing a fumble for the Tennessee Titans. Autry now has 3 ½ sacks on the season, which is tied for the sixth-most in the NFL.
Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones also notched a sack for the second straight week and has taken down the quarterback 2 ½ times during his first two games. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. also recovered a fumble in the Chiefs’ 41-10 rout of the Chicago Bears.
Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox was credited with a half-sack for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football while cornerbacks Martin Emerson and Emmanuel Forbes each recorded a stop behind the line of scrimmage for the Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders, respectively.
