The police assume an accident. The 41-year-old has been searched for since February 7th.

A skier from the Czech Republic who has been missing for around four weeks was found dead in a ditch in Piesendorf (Pinzgau) on Monday. The 41-year-old was on February 7th with some winter sports enthusiasts on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. He had separated from the group shortly following noon, but did not return to the valley towards evening. The police are currently assuming an accident, as a spokeswoman said when asked by the APA.

The dead man was recovered by the Libelle police helicopter team. The man had been searched for several times without success. At first it was assumed that he had gone home, but he never got there. “We are currently assuming that he skied into the terrain and had an accident,” said the police spokeswoman.
