Missile fell in Poland: Alexander De Croo calls for calm, “nothing indicates that Belgium is in danger”

Alexander De Croo spoke at the microphone of VTM this Tuesday evening, a few hours following the announcement of the landing of a missile – potentially of Russian origin – on Polish soil, on the border with Ukraine. The missile exploded, killing two people.

“We obviously send all our support to our Polish friends”, first indicated the Prime Minister, who had already taken the floor on Twitter earlier in the evening, to condemn “the incident” and to offer his condolences to the relatives of the victims.

“Now, firstly, we will analyze well what happened today, before a possible reaction. Because at the moment, there is still a lot of uncertainty. Was it intentional? Did he have anything else?”, he explained, before calling on the Belgians to keep their cool: “Our ambassadors are analyzing the situation closely, and above all, I would like to say that there is nothing to indicate that there is a threat hanging over our country […] So I call for calm. There is no indication of a possible danger in Belgium.”
