Colombians have their eyes on the election and coronation of Miss Universe Colombia, which takes place this September 2 at the Puerta de Oro convention center in Barranquilla.

There are 24 candidates who, tonight, are competing for the title and national representation in the world contest. To become the successor to María Fernanda Aristizábal, the candidates from all the cities of the country must dazzle not only with their parade in gala gowns and bathing dresses, but also with their answers in the round of questions.
The panel of judges is made up of the former Miss Universe, Andrea Meza; Tatyana Orozco, businesswoman from Barranquilla and who has already been a Miss Universe jury; Jason Co, CFO of O Skin Care; Cesar Velilla, doctor and plastic surgeon, and Aysjel Antonia Bernadette Maria, director of Miss Universe Curaçao.

The evening of election and coronation of Miss Universe Colombia begins
Parade in gala dress
The fourth edition of Miss Universe Colombia began with an artistic exhibition, full of color, flavor and Colombian rhythm. Then came the parade in gala dress.
The first to cross the catwalk was Miss Amazonas, who wore a dress designed by an indigenous artisan. She was followed by Miss Antioquia, an international business student, in a Fernando Tarapues suit.
Miss Atlántico wore a design by Mariano Fernández, as did Miss Boyacá, who stood out in a vibrant red dress, and Miss Cundinamarca. Lina Hurtado, miss Buenaventura and one of the favorites to win the crown, wore a design by Alejandro Reyes.
Miss Cali, Wendy Murillo, crossed the catwalk in a Fernando Marín dress. Camila Avella, the first contender for the title who is a mother and wife, did the same with a design by Virgilio Madinah and Miss Cesar walked safely in her outfit by Andrés Martínez.
Miss Guajira’s was added to the list of dresses designed by Mariano Fernández. Valeria Giraldo, representative of the city of Medellín, appeared before the jury with a design by Fernando Tarapues.
Miss Putumayo looked stunning in a sparkling Fernando Marín dress and Miss Quindío showed serenity in her Edward Giraldo dress. Lina Pinzón, Miss Santander, opted for her purple in her Virgilio Madinah suit.
Blue took over the catwalk with the arrival of Miss Tolima, whose outfit was in charge of Melquicedet Rincón, and following her passing came Valentina Cardona, Miss Valle, who closed with a design by Mariano Fernández.

With all 24 candidates on stage, it was time to hear the first verdict of the night. These are the semifinalists:

After the presentation of ‘Checo’ Acosta, the candidates for Miss Universe Colombia will make their presentation in a bathing suit. This round will define the seven contestants who will go to the questions phase.
