This Saturday, October 28, 2023, the new Miss Normandy 2023 was elected in Caen (Calvados), at the exhibition center, following a show which lasted more than two hours.
Started an hour late, due to the vigipirate plan and the checking of the bags of 2,350 people who came to attend the show, the election allowed the crown to be handed over to a new representative of the region.

It is therefore Wissem Morel who succeeds Perrine Prunier, Miss Normandy 2022. The Caennaise, Erine Maloney finishes in second place on the podium, 1st runner-up and it is Ines Leyon who takes third place.
The top 5 is completed by Estelle Mendy, fourth runner-up and Anne-Claire Taton, third runner-up.

Who is Wissem Morel?
The 21-year-old young woman was born in Vernon in Eure. Currently in her 3rd year of a degree in biology in Rouen, the Vernonnaise defends a noble cause: autism. “I have two cousins, a brother and a sister, who have it. I have seen them grow and evolve over the years so it is something that is close to my heart,” the candidate confided to our colleagues at the Démocrate Vernonnais a few days before the election.
This is his first participation in the election and the test was conclusive. “I am very happy and I will do everything to make you proud,” she declared on stage, a few minutes following her coronation.

Very Norman paintings
On stage, the 11 candidates did not escape the traditional presentation speech in front of the jury and the spectators. They chained together four paintings all echoing Normandy.

The second transported the public to Cabourg, on the famous Marcel Proust promenade. The swimsuit parade, a moment both feared and awaited, ended up setting the mood in the exhibition hall. Finally, what would a show in Normandy be without a tribute to the rapper Orelsan? To the song “The Earth is round”, the candidates, Norman flag on their shoulders, made a final appearance on stage before the results.

Wissem Morel therefore joins the big team of misses. She will fly to Guyana during the preparation trip for the Miss France 2024 election. Election which will take place in Dijon, Saturday December 16, 2023.
Will Wissem experience the same fate as Amandine Petit, Malika Ménard or even Cindy Fabre, all Miss Normandy before becoming Miss France?
