Miss LorraineAnd if the future Miss France was a border?

THIONVILLE/LUXEMBOURG – Sarah Aoutar, a 25-year-old border worker from Thionville, is one of the 16 candidates vying for Miss Lorraine. Portrait.

Thionvilloise Sarah Aoutar is participating in Miss Lorraine this year.

Fortune smiles on the daring. At 25, Sarah Aoutar has not given up on her dreams of being a beauty queen, despite a well-launched professional career in Luxembourg in the investment fund sector. “I have admired the Misses since I was little,” she confides. Years later, here she is in the running for the election of Miss Lorraine on October 8th.

Among the 16 candidates, her profile stands out. First runner-up to Miss Prestige National 2016, the Thionvilloise would almost look like a veteran in a competition where most young women are between 18 and 23 years old. An experience that might quickly turn into an asset between now and the election, given the many positive feedbacks that followed his candidacy. “I feel much more ready and much more mature than before,” she slips.

Full of humility, Sarah therefore waited for the right moment to introduce herself, even if her participation was decided “overnight”. Once take-off has begun, there is no question of moving backwards. The title of Miss Lorraine in the line of sight, that of Miss France in the corner of the head, the cross-border worker shows determination and can count “on the support of family, friends and even colleagues”. “It’s been almost 25 years since Lorraine won the crown (Editor’s note: Sophie Thalmann, Miss France 1998). We must break the curse”.

“Free, independent and ambitious”

A speech in the image of the values she wishes to convey, those “of an independent, free and ambitious young woman” very attached to her native region. “I work in Luxembourg, I really like this country, but Lorraine saw me grow up. Representing it would be a source of pride”. Pride also in reconciling the obligations linked to the competition and a busy professional life, a challenge synonymous with “surpassing oneself”.

And what does it matter if the Miss competitions suffer from a retrograde image with part of the public. An unfair trial, according to Sarah Aoutar: “It’s not all regarding beauty and fashion shows. It is also an opportunity to defend beautiful causes and to show what the French woman is in 2022”. All carried by “young girls from various backgrounds”. And even from Luxembourg…
