It’s a childhood dream that suddenly became reality for Valentina Bleckenwegner. The 24-year-old from Hohenzell won the “Mission Austria” among the five finalists and was named “Miss Austria” last Thursday in the Palais Wertheim in Vienna. How happy is that? “Of course very big,” says Bleckenwegner in the OÖN interview. “I didn’t really expect it because every one of us finalists would have had the potential for the title.” From an early age, the Hohenzell native showed great enthusiasm for modeling and the fashion industry. Now the Innviertlerin is probably one of the most sought-following stocks there.
choice as a stepping stone
The newly crowned “Miss Austria” can do little with the title “Most beautiful woman in the country”. “That doesn’t sound right to me and I also think it’s the wrong image,” says the student teacher. “It’s not regarding being the prettiest. Besides, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.” Being authentic and likeable and staying true to yourself are also important factors for a successful modeling career. In any case, Valentina Bleckenwegner’s interest in it has gradually increased over the past few years. “Hopefully, the Miss election is a stepping stone for me. But let’s see what’s in store for me. At the moment I’m just enjoying the time,” she says. In addition to numerous media events, the 24-year-old received a fitting reception in her hometown at the weekend – including a performance by the local music band, in which Bleckenwegner plays the saxophonist.
Bleckenwegner looks back on the past, often stressful time at “Mission Austria” with positive memories. “It was a really cool time, during which I was able to learn a great deal and gain valuable experience. In addition, despite the competitive situation among the finalists, we got along really well. That certainly cannot be taken for granted.”
