The Russian Prime Minister added that Western countries are trying to contain the economic and technological potential of Russia and China, so efforts must be focused on protecting common interests.
In turn, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang expressed his full confidence in continuing to deepen cooperation between Russia and China, and pointed out that mutual investments between Russia and China continue to grow and the quality and volume of cooperation in the energy field are increasing.
Russia and China have strategic relations, especially in the energy sector, and both countries are members of regional organizations such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Yesterday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that trade exchange between Russia and China increased by 4.8% in the first half of this year, reaching $113 billion.
In the first seven months of 2024, Russia supplied China with 62.577 million tons of crude oil worth $37.341 billion, an increase of 3.17% over the same period last year 2023.
Last year, the Russian government expected the volume of trade between Russia and China to rise to $300 billion by the end of 2030.
