Misbah-ul-Haq has resigned as the chief selector of the national cricket team

Misbah-ul-Haq has resigned as the chief selector of the national cricket team.

According to sources, there was pressure on Misbah-ul-Haq to leave a post. He assumed the post of Chief Selector in 2019.

During the press conference, he said that the decision to leave the post is my personal one and the PCB has also been informed.

Misbah said that whoever comes will work well with him. I will hold the responsibility of Chief Selector till November 30.

He said that the focus should be on international cricket. I want to make the team better. As a coach, my target is to bring Pakistan into the top three sides.

He said that he wants Pakistan to win ICC events. On-field energy is more important and I think on-field energy is in me that’s why I chose the post of head coach. Misbah-ul-Haq said that the responsibility of winning and losing is mine.

He also faced severe criticism due to the very poor performance of the national team in the T20 series with Sri Lanka and the Australia series last year.

Misbah-ul-Haq took over the post of Chief Selector last year and also continued to perform the duties of Head Coach.

Holding 2 positions at a time has been criticized by various cricket circles and fans. Misbah’s performance was also questioned due to Pakistan team’s poor performance in England tour.

Last year, when he was given the post of chief selector along with the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, the chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Wasim Khan, called it a good decision and said that it would be bad if only one person had the responsibilities. They will be questioned on the performance.

Well-known cricket analyst Mirza Iqbal Baig said in this regard that there was pressure on Misbah-ul-Haq to leave the post.
