Newborn baby left by mother in toilet bucket comes back to life. The baby, who is undergoing treatment at the Kottayam Medical College Children’s Hospital, will be discharged on Wednesday. Children’s Hospital Superintendent Dr. KP Jayaprakash informed.

The weight of the eight-month-old baby was 1.3 kg when brought to the children’s hospital of Kottayam Medical College. Now it weighs 1.43 kg. The baby has been given special care since delivery. All primary treatments were administered. Now the health condition is completely satisfactory. The superintendent said that the baby will be released under the care of the Pathanamthitta Child Welfare Committee and following two weeks the baby will be brought back to the hospital for further examination.

The baby boy was found abandoned in a bucket on April 4 at his house in Aranmula, Pathanamthitta. The woman, who gave birth at home, sought treatment at a hospital in Chengannur due to excessive bleeding. Then when the hospital authorities inquired regarding the baby, they got the information that the baby was in a bucket at home. With this, the Chengannur police rushed to the house and found the baby in the bucket and rushed him to the hospital. The intervention of the policemen who saved the child’s life received huge appreciation.
