A fisherman who was missing in the sea for two weeks was rescued. The worker was found floating alive in a life raft regarding 70 miles (110 km) off the west coast of the US. The fisherman revealed to his rescuers that he had survived for two weeks by eating salmon.

On the evening of October 12, he left Gray Harbor, Washington for fishing. Officials did not release the name of the rescuers or how they found the fisherman. However, Seattle’s KING-TV reported that the fisherman was found at sea by Ryan Plains and his uncle John from the town of Sooke on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

“I saw what looked like a life raft in the distance. I immediately ran in, got my binoculars and looked,” Ryan told the media. Immediately, Ryan and John pulled him out of there. John says the fisherman hugged him and it was a very emotional moment. Ryan and John immediately made him breakfast with water and gave him to eat that too. He drank three bottles of water in one sitting. He said he had been alone at sea for two weeks and had survived by catching salmon when all the food he had was gone.

He was later brought back to shore by the Canadian Coast Guard and another Canadian rescue agency. The fisherman was later admitted to the hospital.
