Miraculous Journey: 14-Year-Old Dog Travels 163km Overnight to Find Her Owners in Geneva

2023-08-06 06:31:00

A 14-year-old dog was found by police on the outskirts of Geneva on Tuesday, having traveled 163 kilometers in a single night from the house from which she escaped in Bern, the Swiss capital.

The dog was apparently trying to find her owners, who had left her with a friend for a holiday in Germany. She escaped in a westerly direction. Officers got hold of the visibly tired animal following receiving an early morning call alerting them to a stray dog alone on the road. By scanning her identification chip, the police then discovered that the dog, a Border Terrier, belonged to a family living in the canton of Bern, from where she had left the previous night.
