Balochistan’s famous resistance poet Mubarak Qazi died at the age of 68 on September 16 in Turbat.
He was laid to rest in his native Pisni. Akram Baloch, a dear friend of Mubarak, said that he was staying with a friend of his in Turbat for two weeks when he died last night.
Writer and writer Maqbool Nasir of Turbat says that Mubarak Qazi brought the Balochi language to the homes through his poetry.
‘Perhaps no other poet has done such a thing. He connected the new generation with Balochi language, Balochi culture and politics through poetry. His poetry is also called the spokesperson of the Baloch National Movement.
According to Maqbool: ‘Although Mubarak is physically separated, his poetic influence can be said to be the strongest and most powerful voice in the poetry of the new generation and in the everyday use of his language. Some people also call him Mirtaqi Mir of Balochi language.
Maqbool says that in his poetry, we find the political situation of Balochistan, all types and colors of topics.
He was arrested on political grounds in the 1980s and transferred to Machh Jail. They constantly dominate the literary and political landscape.’
He further said that ‘Mubarak’s poetry is used as common sense and proverb. His poetry and verses are presented as examples in homes and gatherings.’
Who was Mubarak Qazi?
Akram Sahib Khan writes in the Balochi language magazine Sachkan that Mubarak was born on December 24, 1955 in a religious family in Pasni and received his primary education there.
Mubarak Qazi went to Karachi for education following matriculation in 1972 and enrolled in Sindh Muslim College, but might not complete his studies and returned to Pisni. He was a laboratory assistant in the fisheries department for six months.
According to Akram, ‘In 1978, Mubarak decided to study once more and moved to Karachi. After entering from there, he took admission in Urdu Arts College for BA.
After doing his BA in 1983, he moved to Quetta in 1984 and took admission in the University of Balochistan and thus did MAIR in 1986.
So far Mubarak Qazi has published regarding 10 Balochi poetry books while some are in the printing stage, which include the following books.

His poetry has also been sung by many Balochi singers of Balochistan, including famous singers Noor Khan Bizenjo, Naseer Ahmed, Arif Jan and Ustad Rasool Bakhsh Farid.
Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki said in his condolence statement that ‘Qazi Mubarak was a great poet of Balochi literature as well as a good person whose literary services will always be remembered.’
Nawabzada Jamal Khan Raisani, the caretaker provincial minister for sports, culture and youth affairs, said in a statement that ‘a chapter of Balochi poetry and literature has ended with the death of Mubarak Qazi.
“He was not only a poet and intellectual, but he will always be remembered as a legend.” This gap of Balochi language and literature will not be filled.
Manzoor Baloch, professor and poet of Balochistan University’s Brahvi department, believes that “in Balochistan, Mubarak Qazi who wrote poetry in Balochi language has hardly received as much respect and recognition as there were very few people who wrote poetry boldly and boldly.” are ‘

Manzoor Baloch said that one of the reasons for his fame is his common sense poetry and use of simple words.
The role of Mubarak Qazi’s poetry in changing the situation in Makran is very different, these were the poets who did not have to identify themselves.
‘That’s why we never saw the kind of reception he got when he came to the party.
“In recent days, during the Balochistan Students Action Committee Council session, I saw that the entire situation stood up to welcome Mubarak, which was also the reason for his love for the youth.”
Manzoorbaluch says that ‘Mubarak was such a poet who sat everywhere, did not care regarding the situation he was in. He was a milling man. What he did was done in public, that is what distinguishes him from other poets.’
On the other hand, Professor Dr. Najiba Arif, the president of the Pakistan Academy of Literature in Islamabad, has also expressed her grief over the death of Mubarak Qazi, a prominent poet and writer of Balochi language and literature.
In his condolence message released on the Facebook page of the Academy, he said that Mubarak Qazi was a great literary figure of Balochi language. With his death, Balochi language and literature lost an important writer.
Mysterious death of only son
Maqbool Nasir said that a turning point in Mubarak’s life was when his only son, Dr. Kimber Qazi, died mysteriously.
He said that first the news came that Kimber died due to accidental shooting, then it was said that he was shot and killed by his own comrades, this news and the death of his son affected Mubarak a lot.
According to Maqbool, ‘following the death of Kambar, it seemed that Mubarak Qazi was broken. Sometimes they seem to be moving away from the realms of their consciousness. We can say that this incident caused a lot of shock to Qazi and his family.’
