Major General Osama Al-Qadi, Governor of Minya, confirmed that the Health Directorate continues to implement presidential initiatives aimed at preserving the life and health of citizens, as 84,605 women were examined within the activities of the Presidential Initiative for maternal and fetal health.
Dr. Mohamed Nadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Minya, announced that 1902 pregnant women were examined during the month of March, as part of the activities of the presidential initiative to care for the health of the mother and fetus.
He added that 84,605 pregnant women have been examined since the beginning of the initiative.
Dr. Ahmed Khalil, Director of the Basic Care Department and Coordinator of Presidential Initiatives in Minya Governorate, explained that the initiative aims to examine pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, with the aim of early detection of many diseases, the most important of which are hepatitis B virus, syphilis and human immunodeficiency virus, in addition to Examination of pressure and physical measurements of weight, height, and blood sugar, in order to prevent the transmission of diseases from the mother to the fetus.
He explained that the initiative is taking place in 260 health units and medical centers, in all health departments at the Minya governorate level, through trained medical teams, while taking all necessary preventive and precautionary measures and following infection control methods.
