Minya Health: 79,000 pregnant women were examined as part of the “Caring for the Health of the People” initiative

The Directorate of Health in Minya Governorate signed a medical examination for 79,000 pregnant women, as part of the activities of the presidential initiative to care for the health of the mother and fetus.

Dr. Mohamed Nady, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Minya, said in his statements today, Monday, that health services were provided to 2,200 pregnant women during the month of January, as part of the activities of the presidential initiative to care for the health of the mother and fetus, noting that 79,498 were examined. A pregnant woman since the beginning of the initiative in all centers of the province.

In a statement, the Undersecretary explained that the initiative aims to examine pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, with the aim of early detection of many diseases, the most important of which are hepatitis B virus, syphilis, and human immunodeficiency virus, in addition to checking pressure and taking physical weight measurements. height, and blood sugar measurements, in order to prevent transmission of diseases from the mother to the fetus.

Dr. Ahmed Khalil, coordinator of presidential initiatives in Minya Governorate, explained that the initiative is being carried out in 260 health units and medical centers, in all health departments at the level of Minya Governorate, through trained medical teams, while taking all necessary preventive and precautionary measures and following infection control methods.

Major General Osama El-Qadi, Governor of Minya, said that the Health Directorate continues to implement the work of the presidential initiative to take care of “the health of the mother and fetus”, by providing free medical and treatment services to women in all governorate centers, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the interest of the safety and health of Egyptian women.
