The Vatican through a press release dated June 10, 2022, announces that Pope Francis’ trip to Africa is postponed. The sovereign pontiff was respectively expected in DR-Congo and South Sudan.

The Holy See informs about the postponement of the Pope’s trip to DR-Congo and South Sudan, from July 2 to 7. In question, the health of the pope, who suffers from knee pain. “Accepting the request of his doctors, and in order not to compromise the results of the knee therapies still in progress, the Holy Father, to his great regret, is forced to postpone his trip (…) to a later date which remains to be defined. The Vatican press service did not specify the date of the postponement of the pontiff’s trip. But it is the Holy See unveiled the detailed program of this six-day trip. In Africa, the pope was to visit Kinshasa and Goma in DR Congo and Juba in South Sudan.
