This Monday, the discovery of 13,820 new infections of covid-19 in Chile was reported. The reported PCR tests reached 55,114, the second lowest figure for a Monday so far in 2022. This Monday morning, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported the detection of 13,820 cases of covid-19 in Chile.

While 8,218 diagnoses were classified as symptomatic, 1,507 were declared asymptomatic, and 4,095 states were not reported.
With the result of the day, the total number of patients in the active stage of the disease fell from 91,410 to 89,973.
The largest number of this group is concentrated in the region Metropolitan (26,078)followed by Bío Bío (13,804) and Valparaíso (7,722).
At the bottom of the table were Tarapacá (533) along with Arica and Parinacota (503).
Regarding the incidence rate of cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, Maule led the list of the day with 830.2, followed by Ñuble (825.4) and Bío Bío (823.5).
At the national level this is at 453.8. A week ago there was talk of 569.7.
According to official figuresthe pandemic varied -22% in seven days and -31% in two weeks.
“16 regions have decreased their cases in the last week and 16 in the last two weeks,” they detailed in a statement from the Minsal.
“Of the 13,820 new cases, 29% are diagnosed by antigen tests, 38% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 15% of those reported are asymptomatic,” they added.
Minsal reports 149 deaths and 16 days over a thousand covid-19 patients in the ICU
Meanwhile, the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS) added 149 deaths to the national list.
With this, the total number of deaths associated with the pandemic rose to 43,226.
The most affected age groups are those between 70 and 79 years old (11,600 losses – 26.84% of the total) and between 80 and 89 (11,083 – 25.64%).
Comparing the period between January 1 and March 7, 2021 left 4,417 deaths and 2022 has accumulated 4,086.
On the other hand, in the ICU it was reported that there are 1,051 patients hospitalized by covid-19.
It is the sixteenth day in a row over the thousand threshold.
Of them, 839 are serious and connected to mechanical ventilation.
With 2,524 critical beds enabled and 239 free, the ICU maintains a 90.53% occupancy45.99% clearly due to covid-19 patients.

Finally, the national positivity of the PCR was set at 17.79%, the lowest since January 25 (15.82%).

The number of reported exams corresponds to the second lowest number so far in 2022 for a Monday, only above the 23,586 on Monday, January 3.
The regions with the highest and lowest positivity were O’Higgins (32.81%) and Ñuble (31.86%) along with Antofagasta (6.64%) and Tarapacá (5.30%).
