In its report this Sunday, the Minsal reported a 21.8% drop in new cases of covid-19 during the last week, as well as a 34.5% reduction during the last 14 days.

The Ministry of Health reported this Sunday that new confirmed cases nationwide decreased by 21.8% during the last week, while in the last 14 days they decreased by 34.5%. In addition, 14 regions decreased their cases in the last seven days, while all of them did so in the last two weeks.

As detailed by the portfolio, 2,042 new cases of COVID-19 were registered this Sunday, with a positivity rate of 10.82% in the last 24 hours nationwide, with 13,683 exams, PCR and antigen tests. The daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region, meanwhile, was 10.58%.

Of the 2,042 new cases, 61% were diagnosed by antigen test, 29% by active case finding (BAC) and 12% of those notified are asymptomatic. Regarding the Metropolitan Region, details the Minsal, 53% are presented by antigen, 32% by BAC and 9% of the reported cases are asymptomatic.

According to the sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Antofagasta, Ñuble and Coquimbo.

Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Ñuble, Aysen and Los Rios.

According to this Sunday’s report, of the 2,042 new cases of COVID-19, 1,327 correspond to symptomatic people and 179 do not present symptoms. In addition, 536 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 5,103,912. Of this total, 6,280 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases already add up to 5,015,684.

Regarding deaths, according to the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), In the last 24 hours, 27 deaths were registered due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths thus rises to 63,667 in the country.

This Saturday, 118 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 86 remained with mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 290 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, as of the same date, the results of 13,683 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 48,027,445 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 10.82% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 10.58%, the Minsal notes.

Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 3 accommodation facilities, with a total of 133 beds. The actual occupancy at the national level is 44%, leaving a total of 55 beds available for use.
