Bill Guerin, the general manager of the Minnesota Wild, was reportedly following a human resources complaint filed by an employee who said he was the victim of verbal abuse in the workplace, according to sources from reporter Michael Russo of The Athletic.

The incident reportedly occurred at the end of November and was reported to the Wild’s human resources department, which hired two independent lawyers to conduct interviews with 15 members of the organization.

After the investigation, the Wild decided not to take further disciplinary action once morest Guerin, according to Russo.

During the investigation, Guerin was absent from the NHL governors’ meeting in Seattle and was not in his team’s entourage during new head coach John Hynes’ first road trip.

Michael Russo’s new information comes a day following assistant general manager Chris O’Hearn and the Wild decided to part ways following a “mutual agreement.” Team sources have reportedly claimed that the departure of Guerin’s right-hand man since 2019 and the investigation into him have no connection.

According to Russo, the employee who filed the complaint is Andrew Heydt, the director of team operations and player personnel, who has worked for the Wild for 10 years.

Neither Guerin nor Heydt were present for the Wild’s morning skate on Thursday.
