The Minnesota Vikings continue to be the measure of all things in the NFL.
Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold leads his team to a 23:17 win over Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets.
Minnesota quickly built a 17-0 lead, but the Jets reduced the gap to 7:17 just before halftime. As a result, the New Yorkers easily dominate the game, but still have to come to terms with their second defeat of the season in a row.
The Vikings now lead the NFC North with five wins from the first five games, clearly ahead of the Detroit Lions.
Narrow bankruptcy for Raimann with Indianapolis
Bernhard Reimann and the Colts narrowly lost 34:37 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their home game.
The left tackle can be happy about the early 6-0 lead, but subsequently has to accept a 10:13 halftime deficit. The two clubs then engage in an open exchange of blows.
Nevertheless, the Jaguars extended their lead to 34:20 before the final period. The Colts with quarterback Joe Flacco equalized the deficit with two touchdowns within two minutes. However, the guests from Jacksonville managed the decisive field goal in the last minute.
Ultimately, the Colts’ four sacks probably ensure their third defeat of the season and second place in the AFC South behind the Houston Texans.
Bills suffer second straight loss
The Buffalo Bills, on the other hand, suffered their second defeat of the season in a row in the home game against Houston with 20:23.
The Texans dominated the first half of the game and ended the second quarter with a 17-3 lead. After that, the Bills can always reduce the deficit and equalize the score at 20:20 three minutes before the end of the game.
Ultimately, however, the Texans prevent overtime with a final field goal and inflict the Bills’ second defeat in the previous evening’s AFC clash.
