The first quarter between Memphis and Minnesota, with 74 points scored in total (41-33 for the Timberwolves), launched this first duel between the two franchises on a very offensive basis. Wolves have always raced ahead
The fact remains that the Wolves created a surprise by winning in the second room of the regular season behind the favorite for the title, the Phoenix Suns (130-117). Better off, up to 13 points ahead in the first quarter (30-17), the Minnesota players raced in the lead almost 100% of the game.
They also did their best to “limit” the troublemaker Ja Morant, who still scored 32 points. It is nevertheless a Wolves player who finishes at the top of the score sheet, with 36 points for Anthony Edwards. The Grizzlies are therefore already under pressure before Game 2, still at home, on Wednesday.
