Minnesota Timberwolves extend contract early with Patrick Beverley

The Minnesota Timberwolves have apparently agreed to an early contract extension with Patrick Beverley. The point guard will remain with the Wolves for another year until 2023.

report that ESPN and The Athletic consistent with reference to Beverley’s advisors. Accordingly, the 33-year-old will sign a new contract for one year and $ 13 million.

Beverley is currently in the final year of a three-year, $40 million deal he received from the LA Clippers in 2019. In the past offseason, it was first traded to Memphis and then directly to Minnesota. He has now extended his expiring contract there until 2023.

The Wolves estimate out loud ESPN the toughness and leadership qualities of the veteran in an otherwise relatively young, up-and-coming team. With a record of 30 wins and 27 losses, the Wolves are scratching their first playoff appearance since 2018, currently ranks Minnesota 7th in the west, which would qualify for the play-in tournament.

In the current season, Beverley averaged 9.0 points (40.6 percent from the field, 34.0 percent from downtown), 4.9 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals. Due to the Beverley extension, the Wolves will probably not have any cap space in the coming offseason, but the franchise will be able to get further reinforcements with a midlevel exception (regarding $10 million).
