Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Minister of Children and Adolescents, Walter Gutiérrez, presented to his counterpart from the Ministry of Social Development (MDS), Tadeo Rojas, details of the National Program for Comprehensive Care of Early Childhood, which will cover the comprehensive care of girls and boys from conception to 3 years and 11 months of age.
The presentation of the program to improve the quality of life for children and their families took place on Wednesday.
On this occasion, Gutiérrez presented a detailed report on the 100 Reference Centers that will be installed in the Capital and the 17 departments of the country, according to precise statistical selection criteria.
One of the highlights of the programme is its comprehensive approach, involving various ministries and agencies, seeking to ensure that children receive comprehensive care, ranging from health and nutrition to early education and social protection.
Furthermore, the emphasis on the community ensures that services are tailored to the specific needs of each region, the Ministry of Children and Adolescents (Minna) reported.
“It is a new management model based on the promotion of rights and social protection of children, which President Santiago Peña always talks about,” said Minister Gutiérrez, explaining that several of the centers will be located in the territories prioritized by the Social Protection System.
The validity of this National Program will be established by a decree of the Executive Branch, while the financing of the infrastructure will be done with funds from Itaipú Binacional.
The Vice Minister of Planning, Programs and Projects of the MINNA, Juan Marcelo Fernández, the Director of the Comprehensive Policy for Early Childhood, Bernarda Casco, the Vice Minister of Social and Economic Protection and Promotion, María Esther Jiménez, and the Vice Minister of Social Policies, of the Ministry of Social Development, Jorge París, participated in this presentation.
