Colombo: The Ministry of Sports canceled the decision to dismiss the Sri Lankan Cricket Board due to allegations of corruption. This is to avoid the ban imposed by the International Cricket Council on Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan Sports Minister Harin Fernando has announced that the board has been dissolved and the interim committee has been appointed. After the team’s dismal performance in the ODI World Cup, the sports ministry itself took action once morest the board.
An interim committee was also appointed under the leadership of former captain Arjuna Ranatunga. Because of this, the ICC has imposed a ban on Sri Lanka.
