The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, met this Tuesday morning with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the UNT, Dr. Mateo Martínez, and the General Secretary of ATSA, Reneé Ramírez, with the aim of finalizing the signing of the agreement that establishes the assimilation of Nursing techniques to obtain the bachelor’s degree and certification and recertification of specialties in the area.
During the meeting, which took place in the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine, the head of the health portfolio stressed that the call was also attended by the president of the Health Commission of the Honorable Legislature of the province, legislator Reneé Ramírez, with the objective of signing the act of launching two programs, one for the assimilation of Nursing techniques -both from ATSA and from other current and validated schools in Tucumán- so that the certification and obtaining of a bachelor’s degree and the other certification and recertification of Nursing specialties.
“It is a very valuable and important day, we are talking regarding two programs that are launched today to scale up at a professional level, in skills, in the economy, attentive to always respond to the needs of the population and those who want to continue training. This is progress for nursing staff -whether therapy, neonatology or on call- to continue adding skills and abilities, so that they can develop their knowledge and skills within health centers”, commented the minister Luis Medina Ruiz.
In this sense, the official emphasized that the primary need of the Health System and of the community is the continuous and increasingly better training of nurses in the province: “This is already very advanced, so it was a very fruitful, very rich and that we believe will generate a lot of expectations in our health community, in addition to a lot of work and development in our health personnel, which will benefit the population”.
For his part, the dean, doctor matthew martinezin the company of the director of the Nursing School of the UNT, professor Rossana Moyanomaintained: “We very much received the visit of the Minister and the legislator and Secretary General of ATSA, with the aim of continuing to advance on these issues, we had an agreement several years ago, in 2019 a complementary act was signed, but today materialize in two lines of work, a program for the assimilation of nursing students in the province of Tucumán so that they can finish their studies and graduate as graduates and the second, for me a brilliant idea of Minister Medina Ruiz, is the certification and recertification of nursing specialties”.
Following this line, Martínez emphasized that from the Faculty the balance of these agreements is more than positive, since they imply more work and more commitment and responsibility for the health of the population: “The Ministry is taking charge of the need for nurses to have every day a higher degree of qualification. The nursing technician is going to receive a degree and the nursing graduate who has done a specialization program will be recognized as such, that is why for us a day like today is a joy, because we believe that it is a significant advance to the world of nursing that is somehow lagging across the country and around the world.”
The Secretary General of ATSA, legislator Renee Ramirez, defined the day as one of great achievements: “We must thank the predisposition of the dean of the Faculty of Medicine with whom we have already signed an agreement through which more than 150 nursing graduates graduated, articulated with our training school for nursing technicians. Nursing. Today we resume that work and I also thank the minister who is supporting this initiative. The Faculty of Medicine opens the doors to health workers who are in sanatoriums, hospitals and Caps, who want to know more and be better, want to be licensed in nursing, that is why we are here watching over them and managing to prioritize the profession , which is the only reason that moves us and leads us to work on this project”.
It should be noted that, in the words of Ramírez, this will imply an enormous benefit in terms of generating opportunities in the provincial territory, avoiding uprooting to other provinces.
