The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to appoint a private advisory group, collect opinions through various channels, and reveal countermeasures within this month.
On the 6th, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs commissioned a private advisory group of 13 members, including legal experts, real estate agents, and academics, to discuss ways to eradicate charter fraud and support victims. The private advisory group consists of a legal group, a practical transaction group, and a system research group, and provides advice on matters related to institutional improvement of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will work with a private advisory group to seek ways to prevent charter fraud, while providing useful advice to victims. In addition, opinions transmitted through various channels such as the Youth Policy Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and SNS will be reviewed and measures to minimize damage from charter fraud will be announced during this month.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will hold a briefing session for tenants who have suffered from charter fraud at the conference hall of the Federation of Korean Industries on the 10th. The second briefing session for victims will be prepared so that tenants who did not attend the briefing session in December last year among guarantee subscribers as well as non-subscribers of the housing city guarantee corporation (HUG) deposit refund guarantee will be able to attend. The private advisory group attends this briefing to support victims’ explanations.
Hyo-Jeong Kim, housing policy officer at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said, “We expect that the private advisory group with expertise will play the role of a think tank in resolving the issue of charter fraud.” I will gather my wisdom as much as possible,” he said.
