This comes in light of the text of the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 2552 of 2023, which stipulated in its first article that: “The Hijri New Year holiday will be on Thursday, July 20, according to the results of the Sharia vision, and Sunday, July 23, is an official paid holiday for workers in ministries.” And government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, private sector companies, and public business sector companies, on the occasion of the glorious July 23 revolution anniversary.
The Ministry of Labor confirmed that the employer may employ the worker during these days or some of them, if the working conditions so require, and the worker in this case, in addition to his wage for this day, is entitled to double this wage according to the text of Article (52) of the Labor Law.
However, this comes within the framework of keenness to unify official vacation dates for all workers in the various sectors of the state – whenever possible – in order to achieve the social and national purpose of official holidays on holidays and occasions and to share the celebration with family and friends.
