Moscow. December 22. INTERFAX.RU – Ministry of Justice recognized as foreign agents six people, including the creator of “Masyanya” Oleg Kuvaev and Andrei Kuraev, who was stripped of the rank of protodeacon, as well as three organizations.
In addition to Kuvaev and Kuraev, the register of foreign agents included journalists Alexander Baunov, Valeria Ratnikova and Alexander Ryklin, lawyer and human rights activist Sarkis Darbinyan, the online publication “Vestka Media”, the project “We Can Explain” and VOBNIAR LLC.
Individual foreign agents, except Kuvaev, are charged with participation in the creation and dissemination of messages and materials of foreign agents to an unlimited number of people.
Kuvaev, according to the Ministry of Justice, opposed the SVO and participated in fundraising events in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, disseminated false information aimed at creating a negative image of Russia and its army.
The department charged Kuraev with spreading fakes regarding the decisions and policies of the Russian authorities, speaking out once morest the SVO, and participating as a respondent on information platforms provided by foreign structures.
Baunov participated as a respondent on information platforms provided by foreign agents and foreign media, spoke out once morest the SVO and disseminated false information aimed at creating a negative image of Russia and its military, the Ministry of Justice believes.
Darbinyan “opposed a special military operation in Ukraine, disseminated false information regarding the decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policies they pursue,” and also “is a co-founder of a public organization included in the register of foreign agents, holds the position of general adviser in an organization registered in foreign country,” the press release said.

“Ryklin took part in the creation of messages and materials from foreign agents for an unlimited number of people, disseminated false information regarding the decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policies they pursue, as well as in relation to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” the statement said.

The “We Can Explain” project opposed the SVO, disseminated fakes regarding the decisions and policies of the Russian authorities, and participated in the creation and dissemination of messages and materials from foreign agents to an unlimited number of people. “The project has support from information resources associated with foreign agents; the project’s journalists are persons included in the register of foreign agents,” the ministry added.
Vobniar LLC is included in the register as created by Maxim Nikandrov, who on November 17 became the first person recognized as a foreign agent on his own application. By law, foreign agents are required to establish a legal entity, which is also then included in the register.
