The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 1st that it held the 33rd Trade Promotion Committee (Collaborative Committee) presided over by Deok-geun Ahn, head of the Trade Negotiation Headquarters. Director Ahn diagnosed the recent economic situation at the meeting. “Recently, the formation of a trade order to respond to new trade agendas, including supply chain, high-tech competition, and digital green transition, is accelerating, especially in the Indo-Pacific region,” he explained.

Next, Director Ahn said, “With the president’s state visit as an opportunity, we held a Korea-US supply chain industry dialogue and announced a ministerial declaration that minimizes the burden on companies when implementing semiconductor laws and export controls.” (MOU) to strengthen cooperation with the United States in high-tech industries.”

Director Ahn especially emphasized trade cooperation with the Indo-Pacific region. In preparation for future negotiations, the ICC reviewed Korea’s position and specific response direction in four areas: trade, supply chain, clean economy, and fair economy. The third round of IPEF negotiations will be held in Singapore from the 8th to the 15th.
