Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources Announces Details of the Third Edition of the Future Minerals Forum

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Dec. 12, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In a press conference today, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) announced details of the third edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF), to be held in Riyadh , of 9a11ofJanuary at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center.

Speaking at the conference, His Eminence the Deputy Minister of Mining Affairs, Khalid Al-Mudaifer, looked forward to new achievements achieved by the Ministerial Round Table and FMF 2024. In previous editions, both platforms were attended by ministers and an important group of international speakers. to solve problems and turn conversation into action.

The Deputy Minister discussed the FMF’s unique role in hosting the only Ministerial Round Table of its kind in the industry. He said: “We were able to make this meeting a strategic and influential government-led platform, giving a voice to many countries and official organizations.”

More than 70 countries will be represented by ministers and senior officials at the Ministerial Roundtable on January 9. For the first time, a meeting of Geological Survey Leaders will be held simultaneously with the Round Table, allowing institutions to discuss important mineral issues in the Super-Region.

Following the Roundtable, 250 keynote speakers will participate in 75 sessions during the two-day Forum. Around 90% of them are CEOs of some of the biggest companies in the sector.

“We created the FMF to support the energy transition and create responsible and resilient mineral value chains in the African Super-Region, West and Central Asia. Last week we participated in the COP and conveyed a simple message: without minerals there cannot be an energy transition”, added Al-Mudaifer.

The conference highlighted the Kingdom’s leadership in providing energy to the world and its current substantial role in supporting the development of resilient value chains to provide clean energy solutions. The Kingdom has the potential to become an international hub for the production and processing of environmentally friendly minerals. This is supported by Manara Minerals Company, which invests in mining assets globally to help achieve flexibility in global supply chains and accelerate the pace of the energy transition.
