Regarding the shortage of vaccines within the framework of the expanded program of vaccination, the Ministry of Health has discussed with international organizations as well as with the national units concerned. So far, domestic companies, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have supported 258,000 doses of 5-in-1 vaccine in Vietnam to serve free childhood immunization .
In addition, the ministry is focusing on drafting the Pharmacy Act (as amended), the Medical Devices Act; addressing the shortage of drugs to treat dengue fever, hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD). Likewise, the Ministry of Health is strengthening the inspection and strict control of import activities to ensure the quality of drugs and medical equipment, manage drug prices, and provide enough drugs and vaccines for prevention needs. and treatment of human diseases.
In the coming times, the Ministry of Health will continue to synchronously implement solutions to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.
