Shafaq News/ On Thursday, the Iraqi Ministry of Health issued an explanatory statement regarding the health condition of religious authority Qasim al-Ta’i.
The Ministry stated in a statement that it had “seen what was circulated on some social media pages regarding a statement attributed to the family of the religious authority Sheikh Qasim Al-Ta’i, where the statement accused the Ministry of Health of negligence regarding his health condition, and the statement mentioned incorrect and scientifically inaccurate information, and at a time when the Ministry of Health confirms that It is concerned and responsible for providing health care to all citizens without exception or discrimination. The Ministry states the following:
1- The health condition of Sheikh Qasim Al-Ta’i was monitored from the beginning of his illness until now by the Minister of Health and the senior staff of the Ministry, and a specialized ministerial delegation headed by the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry was sent to directly review the health condition of Sheikh Al-Ta’i and follow up on everything that might be provided according to the opinion of the specialist doctors.
2- What the statement mentioned regarding the process of “implanting an artificial heart device” completely lacks scientific accuracy, and this intervention is a future project for the Ministry that will begin implementing it soon in Iraqi health institutions, and this procedure is subject to precise scientific conditions and specifications and approved work guidelines that do not apply to the health condition of the reference Al-Ta’i. According to the opinion of all specialists in the field; Of which
A- The patient must be fully conscious, while the patient has been unconscious for 15 days.
B- The liver and kidney functions must be in a normal and effective condition. This also does not apply to the clinical condition of Sheikh Al-Ta’i.
C- The condition of the heart itself must be within the conditions that allow this intervention to take place, and it also does not apply scientifically and according to the opinions of specialists.
3- A number of regional and international health institutions were contacted, and all of them did not agree to receive the case because it was not possible to treat it according to the current situation.
The Ministry confirms that it continues to monitor Sheikh Al-Taie’s health condition and provide everything possible for his condition.
