The Main Director of Energi Kita Indonesia, Satrio Wibowo, was questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the alleged fraud case in the procurement of personal protective equipment at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Friday (19/4). He questioned the preventive function of the Anti-Corruption Agency.
Satrio assessed that the Corruption Eradication Commission failed to prevent corruption in this procurement. Because, he continued, the Anti-Corruption Agency is part of the team assigned to ensure there is no dirty play in the PPE procurement project for handling the Covid-19 pandemic.
“So, it’s very unfortunate, the Corruption Eradication Committee was also present (in the prevention team), but there was no firmness,” said Satrio at the KPK’s Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Friday (19/4).
Satrio said that the Corruption Eradication Committee was present at various meetings discussing the procurement of the project. He was confused by the reason why the Anti-Corruption Agency was only blaming the alleged corruption now.
“We are meeting this (project budget) with all members of the KPK, LKPP, BPKP, we are attending the big meeting,” said Satrio.
Satrio is a litigant in this case. However, the KPK has not officially announced its legal status.

The alleged corruption in the procurement of PPE for Covid-19 at the Ministry of Health occurred in the 2020-2022 fiscal year. The project value reached IDR 3.03 trillion.
This case relates to abuse of authority. The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) confirmed that hundreds of billions of rupiah worth of state losses were incurred.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has named the suspects involved in this case. Their identities were only revealed to the public when their detention was carried out. (Z-6)
