Recently, the Vice Minister of Health (e) Germán Escobar, maintained that the country has enough anticovid vaccines to guarantee the immunization of boys and girls. “With the arrival of 6.3 million vaccines from the Sinovac laboratory, through Covax, and which arrived in the country in the last week of December, we have guaranteed vaccines for the entire population from 3 to 11 years old,” Escobar said.

The call from the Ministry of Health comes while the students of the country’s public schools begin to resume their face-to-face classes. Despite the fact that organizations such as the Colombian Federation of Educators (Fecode) argue that there should not be a total return to face-to-face As long as there are no biosafety conditions, the Government has warned that the education of children is a priority. For this reason, since last year the Ministry of Education announced that face-to-face classes would be held 100%, while The Ministry of Health maintained that there will be no capacity restrictions in the salons.
