The head of the health portfolio, Luis Medina Ruiz held a meeting this followingnoon with the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, doctor Mateo Martínez and with the vice dean, doctor Liliana Tefahato continue advancing the cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine and the Ministry of Health, regarding the training of human resources of medical students in the last year, so that later, later, when they enter the residencies they have a progress in training.

In this sense, Medina Ruiz explained that the objective is fundamentally to cooperate in the provision of services and care to patients in the province. “There is progress with the Faculty, in the chair of ophthalmology in terms of consultations, surgeries and practically everything is already organized so that we can begin next month in collaborating in the care of patients, consultations and surgeries. At the same time, we have been working and coordinating with Dr. Martínez, with the dean of the Faculty of Psychology and with the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, to work together to increase the provision capacity,” he indicated.

For his part, Dr. Mateo Martínez commented that the university begins to strengthen its activities in February. “We were interested in visiting the minister, because we have several activities together, at different levels of development and as always, it has been a very fruitful, very intense and very emotional meeting. On the other hand, we have come together with the vice dean, Professor Tefaha, to address different issues, among them, a clinical skills and abilities laboratory that the Ministry is collaborating with, which we are going to inaugurate shortly.”

In addition, the dean stated that they seek to speed up the processing of a Law so that the Faculty of Medicine can dispose of those human remains that do not have any type of family requirement, so that undergraduate and graduate students can develop better skills and abilities, and can help better serve people. “We are very happy, because it is strengthening ties and work initiatives. Just like the province, we are a State and we are willing to cooperate in whatever the minister requires,” he concluded.
