□ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs won the grand prize (Prime Minister’s Institutional Award) at the ‘2022 Pan-Governmental Active Administration Best Practice Contest’ held in Sejong on November 24 (Thu).

※ The Contest for Best Practices in Active Administration is an annual event jointly organized by the Ministry of Personnel Innovation, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and the Office for Government Policy Coordination. About 540 cases submitted by 292 organizations were evaluated in this contest.

□ The case of active administration submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a case of ‘supporting the safe evacuation of Korean nationals residing abroad through street fighting during the war in Ukraine’.

ㅇ In a situation where dozens of South Koreans remain in danger as aircraft operations are suspended due to the outbreak of missile attacks and ground forces fighting across Ukraine,

ㅇ The Embassy of Ukraine led four vehicles, attached vehicle identification stickers to identify Korean nationals for quick and safe movement, and drove more than 1,000 km without a break for more than 30 hours to achieve safe evacuation of Korean citizens, even during the war. It was highly praised for actively taking part in the protection of Korean nationals residing abroad.

□ This is the first time that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs entered the final round of the government-wide competition for active administration and won an award. We will continue to encourage.
