The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced today (12th) that it has agreed to hold regular director-general-level meetings in the pharmaceutical sector to expand drug trade and strengthen communication with Vietnam.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said that as part of the follow-up measures for President Yoon Seok-yeol’s state visit to Vietnam last month, a public-private joint drug development support group was dispatched to Vietnam on the 6th and 7th and met with Vietnamese Vice Minister of Health Xuan Tuyen.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety met with Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Drug Regulatory Authority (DAV), and requested system improvements so that domestic drugs might be approved quickly in Vietnam. They said they asked to share.
Kang Seok-yeon, head of the Drug Safety Bureau, said, “The visit of the support group is very meaningful in that it provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation plans with the Vietnamese regulatory authorities, which is difficult for the industry to meet in Vietnam, one of the major export markets for pharmaceuticals.” We will make every effort to achieve results,” he stressed.
