Ministry of Finance distributed 24 crores to its employees, what method was adopted to save income tax – Business & Economy

The Finance Ministry violated the rules and distributed 24 crores to its employees. According to the report, this honorarium was also not included in the salary so as not to pay income tax.

Naji TV quoted the Auditor General of Pakistan’s report as saying that during the audit of the Finance Division, it was revealed that during the financial year 2022-23, the Finance Division spent Rs. And each employee was given money equal to his four basic salaries.

The report of Auditor General of Pakistan has recommended to withdraw this amount. According to the report, gratuity means a regular or irregular payment made to a public servant as compensation for special work. .

The report said that giving honorarium without the approved policy of the Cabinet is a serious lapse of management, as well as a violation of the instructions of the Prime Minister, the mandated powers of the Financial Management and Principal Accounting Officers.

Quoting observations, the report said that giving honorarium equal to the four basic salaries without an approved policy by the Cabinet is a violation of rules. This honorarium was given through DDO Vendor No. 30005932 instead of giving in crossed check or payslip. Gratuity was not included in the salaries i.e. not paid through salary slips of the employees so that the tax slab would be reduced and no income tax would have to be paid.
