Ministry of Environment says seeds and fertilizers are cheaper in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh വി Ahmed al-Ayada, undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, said that the price of seeds and fertilizers in Saudi Arabia is lower than in neighboring countries. Al-Aida added that comparing the prices of fertilizers between neighboring countries and Saudi Arabia would show that difference.

Prices of fertilizers in Saudi Arabia have not increased for six months compared to other countries. Al-Ayada said seed prices have risen not only in the country but around the world.

He added that he hoped the increase would restore the balance of prices. He pointed out that there are many varieties of seeds which, like wheat in other countries, do not increase in price. Al-Aida confirmed that the three companies had not raised prices until they had coordinated with the ministry. It is noteworthy that Prince Fahad bin Sultan, the Governor of the Tabuk Region, has initiated 26 development projects in the region with an economic cost of more than 2.5 billion riyals.

The development plans are in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s targets to serve one million new beneficiaries and support the region’s environmental and water sustainability.
