THE MINISTRY of Agriculture (Kementan) together with Commission IV DPR-RI and Bulog are working together to enforce the security of food stocks in the Tangerang area. Chairman of Commission IV DPR RI, Sudin, invited Perum Bulog to direct its attention to maintaining rice reserves, ensuring adequate supply and price stability.

“We need clear visibility of food availability in Tangerang. This is important to ensure stability and controlled availability,” he said.

Representing the Minister of Agriculture, Director General of Plantations Andi Nur Alam Syah, during a joint visit with Commission IV DPR-RI at the Tangerang Bulog Warehouse, emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining the stability of food supplies for current and future needs. Febby Novita, Business Director of Perum Bulog, said that rice stocks of 16,598 tonnes had been obtained domestically, with monitoring and evaluation measures continuing to be carried out to renew supplies.

Andi Nur explained the refocusing steps taken by the Ministry of Agriculture to maintain food stocks. Especially rice, through various land maintenance strategies and providing incentives for farmers.

“The government remains committed to strengthening efforts to support sustainable food production,” he added, emphasizing the Ministry of Agriculture’s determination to continue working to ensure the availability of sufficient food for all.

Acting Mayor of Tangerang, Nurdin, reported that ongoing collaborative efforts with Bulog and related parties were carried out to ensure the smooth supply of various food commodities in each sub-district. Apart from that, a Ramadan Cheap Food Bazaar was also held for the community in various sub-districts. Apart from rice, stocks of other food commodities, such as wheat flour, cooking oil, beef, sugar and eggs, also receive similar attention.
