The state intends to compensate 40 percent. battery purchase costs for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises or farmers who meet these criteria, renewable energy, citizen energy associations and non-profit legal entities seeking association status, the Ministry of Energy announced on Tuesday.
Energy Minister Dainius Kreivys says that non-domestic generating consumers with both solar and wind power plants will be able to apply for support.
“In Lithuania, the production of energy from solar and wind power plants is increasing rapidly, so storage devices become a necessary tool that allows you to store excess energy and use it later, when it is not possible to consume all the energy at once,” said D. Kreivys in the report.
Fixed support for the installation of devices with an iron phosphate battery will amount to 744.23 euros per kWh, and for the installation of an accumulator with a lithium ion battery – and 646.41 euros (without VAT).
Beneficiaries must install the devices within a year.
The Ministry aims to install 15 megawatt hours of additional renewable energy storage capacity by the second quarter of 2026.
