Today Sunday, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, issued Resolution No. 16 of 2024 regarding the trade of free sugar in the markets and the limitation of trade of all quantities and sugar stocks available. Free sugar costs 27 pounds per kilo, whether in the branches of “general” or “Egyptian” wholesalers, or in any other balance available in the packaging factories, to maintain their disbursement and distribute them according to the smart ration cards of citizens during the disbursement of rations, at the same prices and quantities stipulated in Ministerial Directive No. 31 of 2024.
The decision also provided that the Directorate of Supply increases all quantities or stocks of free sugar available in the department of the governorate at the price of 27 pounds per kilo, available in the packaging factories, on the balances of the branches of the wholesale company of the governorate (general / Egyptian), provided that the wholesaler whose quantities of sugar have been increased. The balances of its affiliated branches regulate the financial contributions of the packaging factories according to the exchange rate of free sugar for rationers and the project of my association to distribute it to citizens. under ration cards as extra free sugar.
The Directorate also controls and monitors the available quantities of the above-mentioned free sugar in the branches of the (General/Egyptian) wholesale companies, whether they are balances available within the branch or quantities that were available in the packaging factories and which were added to the balance sheet of the wholesale branch, to control and monitor the disbursement and distribution of these quantities to the ration exchanges and the project of my association to distribute additional free sugar within the framework of the cards of rationing of citizens according to the quantities and prices stipulated in Ministerial Directive No. 31 of 2024.
