The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Alejandra Venerando, received a visit from two young San Juan students studying Medicine, both at the National University of Córdoba.
Tomás Madrid Fernández and Agustín Pérez Maturano placed second and fifth, respectively, in the 29th edition of the National Academic Olympiad of Medical Students.
The contest is organized by the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Córdoba and was held last weekend in La Falda.
Fernández and Maturano participated together with hundreds of students who have the best averages from seven universities: the National University of Córdoba, the National University of Cuyo, the National University of La Plata, La Rioja, Rosario, Tucumán and the National University of the Northeast. .
Both students greeted the minister and told her regarding their experience in the competition, where they had to take an exam with 100 questions on knowledge acquired in the Basic Cycle of the Medicine degree, including general knowledge questions and questions in English.
Tomás and Agustín commented that they were surprised with the results “because they had the best averages from various national universities.” In any case, both recognize their effort and dedication to obtain these achievements. The young people know each other, are friends and share study hours in the Cordovan capital.
For her part, the minister thanked the visit, said she felt very proud that there are people from San Juan who stand out in terms of health, and in this case, pointed out the great merit of obtaining the distinction, which will have a significant impact on the quality of the two future professionals.
